The D_Read-Narrate project in brief:

The project aims to research and develop a set of educational web applications that enhance the linguistic skills of primary-school students who are acquiring Greek as an additional language (henceforth second language, L2). Given the increasing number of multi-/bilingual (henceforth bilingual) students in Greek schools, the outmost goal of the project is to provide an assistive digital educational tool that works on tablets and can be of use to primary school teachers in multilingual classrooms and teachers of Greek as an L2, thus significantly contributing to the inclusion and integration of bilingual students in the Greek school setting.

Parts of the iRead educational content, design and infrastructure will be used and extended to develop a digital educational protocol of teaching activities aiming to assist the acquisition of Greek phonology and orthography, vocabulary and morphosyntax, as well as reading and narrative skills in Greek, this time targeting sequentially bilingual students who are acquiring Greek as an L2.
